Safe Work College Queensland

Safe Work College was established in 1990 to provide quality work health and safety training throughout Queensland.

Since that time, the College has trained thousands of health and safety representatives, work health and safety officers, supervisors and managers, Health and Safety Committee members, and others – all of whom have gained additional experience and skills to help make Queensland workplaces safer.

Contemporary research shows that undertaking WHS training –

  • reduces the number of accidents and injuries in the workplace

  • improves employee morale and motivation

  • improves communication between employees and management

  • reduces workers’ compensation claims

  • reduces staff turnover

Types of WHS Training

Safe Work College operates from our main premises in South Brisbane with access to three professional training rooms. We also provide training in regional centres throughout Queensland and can conduct in-house training for workplaces on demand.

Our approved Queensland based HSR training and Comcare HSR training are run in partnership between Safe Work College and ATUI.

Safe Work College also offers health and safety training for Health and Safety Committees around their role and purpose, as well as for workplaces on how to manage the risk of psychosocial hazards such as workloads, fatigue, violence and aggression, and harassment to implement the strategies outlined in the Queensland Code of Practice in a practical way. Other training includes for WHS Entry Permit Holders under the WHS Regulation (Qld).
